There are different types of dreams, not just good ones and nightmares. When it comes to certain hair dreams, some can be interpreted as positives, while others might be a warning.

Dreams were probably my gateway into discovering the metaphysical realm and how it links us to the physical world. Between cat naps, disco naps, and actual sleep, the dreams I had experienced (and still continue to) were always on a different level ever since I could remember. Whether they were super vivid, muffled sounds, tapped into certain feelings, I knew there was a deeper meaning than I could describe with words.

It wasn’t until I got to college until I realized there were such things as dream decoders or dream dictionaries. Dreams are associated with supernatural or foretelling significance, as well as healing powers in some cultures. If you’re interested in learning the science behind dreams, check out this article.

Here are the most common hair dreams that we’ve seen:

Dreams of Long and Short Hair

To dream of longer hair is seen as positive, representing growth and strength. Additionally it represents our connection to the world around us. If your hair dream is of a woman with luscious flowing locks, this is associated with friendship and happiness.

Dreaming of yourself with short hair could mean something was cut short in your life, or you will reach a place of contentment in your life shortly.

Perfumed Hair

Dreaming of perfumed hair can mean vanity or arrogance. If you are applying perfume to your hair in your dream, you may come off as arrogant. If someone else is applying it to your hair, that might mean they come off as concerned about their appearances, too.

Dreams of Cutting Hair

Cutting your hair in your dream is a sign of success in something new you may be taking on. And it could also mean permanently removing something holding you back. However, cutting someone else’s hair might be warning you of others’ hostility.

Different Hair Conditions

Depending on the condition, dreaming of hair can mean a healthy self image, youth, and vitality if the hair appears to be shiny, tangle-free, and healthy. Hair that looks a mess might be a sign of low self esteem.

Hair that is unmanageable, tangled, or knotted, may mean you have complex problems in your life. Think about alternative problem solving strategies. You could also be experiencing confusion, or uncertainty regarding a decision in your life.

Hair dreams can signify your inner emotions as well. Hair that is well maintained in your dreams could mean that you are recognizing your emotions and managing them well. On the contrary, hair that is disheveled could mean that you don’t have a hold on your emotions.

Dreams of Washing Hair

Dreaming of cleansing the hair could be a sign avoiding potential danger. You are literally and figuratively cleansing the negative dangers that might be surrounding you. This could be physical in the form of a person, or it could signify mental or emotional challenges.

Hair Loss

Dreaming of losing hair could have to do with the feeling of being out of control, not as attractive, or low self esteem. Mentally and emotionally you may be going through some short of loss potentially to your identity, or something you found valuable to you.

When it comes to interpreting your dreams, whether they are about hair or something wildly out of the ordinary, pay attention to the way you feel when you wake up from said dream. You might even find yourself surprised at how well your intuition is connected to the emotions felt within the dream. That being said, you could learn a lot more about its true meaning and how it applies to your life.

If you have not done so, and are interested in dissecting the meaning of your dreams, I encourage you to keep a dream journal, or even jot it down on the notes app on your phone. By doing this exercise, you will train your brain to remember more details which help with the overall story. Write down any emotions you felt in the dream, and when you first wake up. This is such a great way to gain further insight into your subconscious.

What are some wild dreams you might have had, and did they have any significance based on what was happening in your life at that time?
