As we’re closing up the winter season, I bet your strands have taken a little bit of a beating. Between the dry air, less than ideal maintenance, the hot tools, and chemical services in the salon, your hair needs a little pick-me-up to restore its strength. I know mine did! And that’s exactly why Acure created their new RevitaBond Restoration Hair System.
I was able to test their new products through Beautytap in exchange for my honest and professional review as a licensed hairstylist. Here’s some of my thoughts about the brand itself down to the products.
Background of The Brand
I’ll be honest, I hadn’t heard of Acure until recently. But here’s a few reasons why they peaked my interest, and might do the same for you, too.
- Referring to themselves as pioneers with purpose, Acure has been making clean and sustainable beauty products since 2010.
- They develop skin, hair, and body care using ingredients that are safe for both you and the planet. Love that!
- Their dedication towards being green and conscious is admirable to say the least. Not to mention, their products are made here in the United States.
- Bonus…everything is made free of parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, petrolatum, and formaldehyde- which can lead to both short and long term issues.

Acure RevitaBond Restoration System
Acure specifically designed this system to strengthen and support hair growth.
The products are packaged using recyclable aluminum bottles. While more sustainable, they’re prone to more dents and dings when being shipped. But rest assured, that doesn’t ruin the formulation in any sense.
Ingredients include things like upcycled avocado oil, kale, chia seed extract, L-arginine, coconut oil, kokum butter and cocoa butter. These are great for retaining moisture, restoring strength, mending bonds, and adding body.
The products have a pH between 4.5 and 5.5 which is essential for top tier scalp and hair health.
In addition, the price point is extremely budget friendly. Everything is under $20. You can get it at Whole Foods if you have one near you. I wish I did!
My Review
The RevitaBond system has a total of five products: the shampoo, conditioner, mask, leave in spray, and serum. For reference, I tested this out on my long, highlighted, medium-coarse waves and curls.
Here’s my thoughts of each individual product.
Acure RevitaBond Restoration Shampoo
In terms of cleansing, I was disappointed by the shampoo. I wanted to give it a fair shot, but I had to shampoo three times to get a decent lather. This tells me that it’s not necessarily the best at breaking down heavy product buildup.
However, I decided to give it another try onmy next wash day, about a week later. This time I used a clarifying shampoo first, following up with this as my second. The lather was so much greater, and I was able to use less product.
Maybe if you have a medium to fine hair type, or aren’t using products with thicker ingredients, this would work well as a daily shampoo for you. But for the curly girls, here’s how to find the best shampoo for your wave pattern here.
Acure RevitaBond Restoration Conditioner
If you’ve been looking for a lightweight conditioner, you won’t be disappointed with this one. It helps to lock in hydration and moisture. I was surprised with how much body my curls appeared to have.
Despite its use of cocoa butter, this may not be the conditioner for you if you’re in need of lots of moisture. This product focuses on maintaining the strength of your tresses.
RevitaBond Leave In Perfecting Spray
Leave ins are a hair prep must-have when it comes to styling.
This one uses coconut and avocado oil (two of my fav carrier oils) to strengthen and reduce frizz.
Applied on damp hair, it helps to reduce hair fall and breakage, making hair more manageable while detangling. I even let my hair air dry without any further styling product and it came out nicely. Very soft, and little frizz.
Plus, it helps to protect bonds from any future damage.
Personally, this was part of my top two favorite products out of the entire line. It wasn’t heavy and had a light scent making it a perfect fit for just about anyone.
RevitaBond Smoothing Serum
Serums are definitely a must have in any hair routine. But let me tell you, the texture of this RevitaBond Smoothing Serum reminded me more of a lotion than anything.
Is that a bad thing? No, more of an observation. I’m so used to a velvety oil like feel.
However, it’s lightweight and can be used on both wet or dry hair. It smoothes down frizz, adds shine, and absorbs into the hair quickly.
I like to use it on my ends to smooth out second and third day curl frizz. You might like it too. It’s definitely good to have in your hair toolkit.
RevitaBond Support Hair Mask
Finally…I saved the best for last, of course!
I loved that this mask was actually thick. And despite the use of cupuacu and kokum butter, it doesn’t leave the hair feeling weighed down or greasy.
My hair felt balanced, if that makes sense. The mask is not overly moisturizing, but also adds to the hairs strength.
Leave it on between 5-10 minutes in the shower to let it do its thing. I would even go as far as saying this is a great alternative to Olaplex No. 3. I’ll definitely have to add this to my list of best hair masks for hair wellness success.
To sum it up, I think the RevitaBond Restoration Hair System by Acure is a game changer.
Especially if you have damaged or broken strands from chemicals, heat, or just regular wear and tear.
I love that Acure uses certified organic ingredients and has an incredibly reasonable price range. This makes it a great alternative to some salon professional bond builders that are currently on the market. And that goes for any range of wave patterns.
Do yourself a favor and add a few of these products to your hair rituals. You won’t be disappointed!
